Plastic Containers and their uses
May 16, 2010 by publisher · Leave a Comment
The term “Plastic Containers” encompasses a wide range of products. From sports display cases to die cast display cases and from food storage containers to plastic aquariums, Plastic has invaded our lives in a good way.
A long time ago, plastic was mainly used as a means for storage because it was cheap and because it was only available in forms (i.e. shape, color, thickness, etc). But over the years the technology has changed, as always, and better uses have been found for the material. Particularly, the method known as Plastic Injection Mold Design has revolutionized the way certain products are made.
This design method has enabled the birth of shapes that were not possible before in certain industries that were dominated by glass. For example, putting in an aquarium that went around the corner of the wall without having an edge was either impossible or extremely expensive with glass. However, with the advances in plastic, this is sometimes as simple as buying it off the shelf ad installing it yourself.
It also helps that science has found a way to enhance the clarity of plastic. It is at a stage where plastic is now clearer than glass. This has greatly benefitted the world of display cases. Not only are the display cases or containers strong and durable, but they offer the collector flexibility in terms of accommodating a variety of dimensions. Imagine getting a case that fits the contours of each golf club in a collection of vintage golf clubs? Not only would this look pleasing, it also minimizes the space taken up by the display case.
Restless Plates in the Peruvian Andes

One of my articles last month was about the devastating earthquakes that have plagued many parts of the world this year, such as Haiti, Chile, China, and the Baja. These events cause catastrophic destruction, and are the result of the movement of tectonic plates. The Earth’s crust is restless, constantly in motion, and earthquakes represent the most violent shifts.

Solar Power for Online Systems
December 18, 2009 by admin · Leave a Comment
System networks rely on continuous power to stay alive. System networks such as microwave and cell repeaters as well as Wi-Fi and WiMax networks especially depend on available power supply during power outages and when utility power is not available around the clock. This is why SunWize created a utility-based power solution that features battery backup for outdoor appliances.

Along with home solar panels, SunWize offers Power Online Systems for system networks. This type of system offers continuous DC power with battery backup from an AC source. Idealfor applications using bank switched street lighting, these systems can provide power during blackouts and power outages. In fact, SunWize’s system is available 24 hours a day and can provide up to five days of power during outages. Whether you’re searching for Power Online Systems for system networks or residential solar power systems, SunWize can help you make the switch to solar.
Nanoparticles Used in Common Household Items Shown to Cause Genetic Damage

Titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles, found in everything from cosmetics to sunscreen to toothpaste to paint to vitamins, caused systemic genetic damage in mice, according to a comprehensive study conducted by researchers at UCLA’s Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center. The TiO2 nanoparticles induced single- and double-strand DNA breaks and also caused chromosomal damage as well as inflammation, all of which increase the risk for cancer.
